The customer service warranty. FAQ.

Questions about Dormez-vous in general? See our Dormez-vous FAQ!

First and foremost, always read your manufacturer's warranty card upon receipt of your new mattress set. And make sure it is attached to your original bill of sale in the event of a warranty claim.

1. Who do I contact if I have a warranty concern?

Product warranties may differ between manufacturers and between models. Read your manufacturer's warranty card to determine if your concerns are covered under warranty. If they are, contact your Dormez-vous sales associate with any questions or contact our customer service department at 1-888-7-DORMIR to discuss your warranty options.

If you are covered under warranty, Dormez-vous will ensure inspection is made and we will direct your concerns - along with inspection assessments -- to the manufacturer.

2. Must I buy both a mattress and a box spring for my warranty to be valid?

No. You can buy one piece or the other separately and still have a valid warranty. However, if any new mattress is matched to an unstable foundation or defective box spring, the mattress warranty is considered void. Note that some box springs - be they old or new - cannot properly support today's thicker, heavier mattresses. This is why purchasing a complete new set - with assured mattress and box spring compatibility -- is always wise.

3. Do I need a new frame?

It is important that you have a strong metal frame with the proper centre support. Today's mattress sets are much thicker and heavier than in the past. An inadequate frame may provide improper support and premature wear of your mattress and box spring. An appropriate frame would have a rigid centre support with at least five legs or a minimum of five hardwood cross slats. Preferably the centre hardwood slat would have a support leg. This rule applies to some full/double sets, and all queen and king sets.

4. What is a body impression? Isn't it considered a manufacturer's defect?

During normal mattress use, you may notice body impressions. These commonly occur because the mattress is adjusting and conforming to the contours of your body. Given the added comfort materials in today's bedding, such impressions should be expected and are not a manufacturer's defect.

5. Why is my whole set not replaced if I have a problem? I didn't order a mismatched set, so why doesn't my replacement piece match?

In cases where either the mattress or the box spring alone has a manufacturing defect, only the defective piece will be repaired or replaced. Occasionally the original cover for the replacement has been discontinued and is not available. The manufacturer will replace the new piece with a cover of equal or greater quality. This will not affect serviceability of the product or future warranty claims.

6. If I receive a new mattress or box spring under a warranty claim, does my warranty start over?

No. The length of the manufacturer's warranty is determined by the date of the original purchase. Check your manufacturer's warranty card to determine the length of your warranty period.

7. The corner guard on my box spring came off. What should be done?

Corner guards are placed on box spring/foundations to protect them during the delivery process. If they pull away, tear or fall off once delivery is completed, they've done their job and you can remove them. If you choose to re-attach one or more of them, simply use staples or tacks.

8. How do I know if my warranty is void?

Contact Dormez-vous using our toll-free number 1-888-7-DORMIR. Upon inspecting your mattress, our skilled inspectors will guide you through the warranty process and follow-up with the next steps.
