Sleep Deprivation
Many people are sleep deprived and they need not be. As a matter of fact, many people can address the problem simply by following a few procedures.
Here are some tips.
Develop a "before bed pattern"
Keep a consistent sleeping schedule by retiring at the same time every night and awakening at the same time every day. This allows your "internal clock" to tick at an even rate and send signals to your body that the hour has come to settle down.
Create a good sleep environment
This comes down to common sense and, of course, a comfortable bed offering proper support. Your sleep environment should be a quiet, dark, soothing place with a temperature suited to your comfort level.
Exercise and nutrition
Be good to your back and muscles. Exercise often, but never too close to bed time. Smoking or ingesting stimulants or alcohol later in the evening - and particularly just before bedtime -- is not advised.
