Mattress Maintenance

A new mattress is a valuable, long-term investment that significantly influences your overall health and state of mind. So take good care of your mattress. Here are some pointers on how to extend its life.

Move it with care

A mattress and box-spring can be unweildy. Take care when moving them. Otherwise, you may hurt yourself or damage items through excessive bending or force-fitting. Refer to information from manufacturers for details, or contact one of our stores for advice.

Avoid the rough stuff

Never jump, stand, or walk on your mattress. This can cause severe coil damage.

A good turn

Turn and rotate your mattress every three to six months. Not all mattresses are manufactured to flip over, but if the mattress is upholstered on both sides, flipping is recommended.

Positioning handles

Positioning handles are usually designed to position your mattress, helping you keep it square with the foundation. Some handles are not manufactured to support the whole weight of the mattress. Check your warranty card for details about handles designed for your bed. If you have further questions, contact us.

Clean thinking

Vacuuming is the best way to clean a mattress. Never soak it. And before attempting to remove stains, contact the manufacturer or one of our stores for advice.
